When talking about I-Shou, there is a clear picture from the third floor of the International College building that instantly comes to mind. The colorful trees spread across the sidewalk, a bus stop just across the street that never seems to rest, and the pavement path winding through the small park where students naturally flow toward the International College. This simple yet vivid scenery is forever painted in my memory as an alumna, marking my favorite spot at I-Shou University.

It’s the third-floor library in the International College, where every student knows it is not just a library. For some, it was a hangout place to meet friends; for others, a cozy corner to nap between classes. For me, it was something even more personal. It was a warm spot in a campus that was always kept cold.

Everywhere in I-Shou, the air conditioner hummed relentlessly, filling classrooms and hallways with an icy chill. But the library was different. The tall glass windows welcomed sunlight that poured into the room, filling every corner with golden warmth. I loved sitting by those windows, where the sun rays touched my face and softened the atmosphere around me. That warmth made the library feel alive. It wasn't just a place for studying, it was a place that embraced you, a space that reminded me of home.

From that spot, I could see the world outside moving busily, the buses stopping and leaving, students crossing the park, the trees swaying with the wind. Yet inside, bathed in sunlight, I felt calm. It became my refuge during stressful exam weeks, my quiet corner after long classes, and my favorite place to dream about the future.

I think that’s why I carry this memory so vividly. It wasn’t just about books or study tables, it was about the feeling of warmth, both from the sunlight and from the life I experienced there. The library was a reminder that even in the busiest, coldest days, there was always a place of comfort waiting for me.

Now, as an alumna, whenever I think of I-Shou, I don’t just remember the academic lessons or the grades I earned. I remember that library on the third floor, the way the sun filled the room, and the sense of belonging it gave me. To me, that library wasn’t just part of the campus, it was the heart of my I-Shou experience, and the memory of its warmth will always stay with me.
