ISU AI Innovation Competition

🎓Event Purpose
This event aims to raise students’ awareness of artificial intelligence (AI) applications by integrating the United Nations’ 17 SDGs. Participants are encouraged to apply AI technologies through interdisciplinary collaboration to design innovative and practical solutions. The goal is to cultivate students’ creative thinking and hands-on abilities while exploring the possibilities of a symbiotic relationship between technology and the environment. Held in celebration of ISU’s 35th anniversary, the event also showcases ISU’s achievements in AI and sustainability education, injecting fresh creativity and value into pursuing a smart and sustainable future.
📅Event Schedule
  • 🗓️Registration & Submission: June 1 - September 15, 2025
  • 🗓️Review Period: September 22 - September 26, 2025
  • 🗓️Results Announcement: September 29, 2025 (Winners will be announced on the website of the Office of Library and Information Services)
  • 🗓️Award Ceremony: October 18, 2025 (Sat) at 10 a.m.
  • 🗓️Award Ceremony Venue: AI Computer Lab (Room 3601), 6F, Science & Technology Building
🎯Event Overview
👥Participants
  • ✅Open to all current students (including graduands)
  • ✅Each student can join one team only, and each team can have 1 to 4 members
  • ✅Team members may come from different departments, grade levels, or fields
  • ✅Limited to 15 teams; registration will close once full
  • ✅Each team must appoint a team leader as a liaison

🧠 Event Content
Participants must apply AI technologies in alignment with the United Nations’ 17 SDGs to propose a concrete and feasible innovative solution. Each submission must include:
  • 💡Technical architecture design
  • 💡Data flow planning
  • 💡Model testing results
  • 💡Expected impact and contributions to the environment, society, and economy


🌍Examples of Innovative SDG Applications
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being - AI-assisted diagnosis, and smart health monitoring, disease trend prediction
SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy - AI-optimized energy distribution and intelligent energy-saving systems
SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production - AI-optimized recycling and intelligent waste management

🏆Prizes
First Prize: 1 team - NT$1,000 + certificates of merit
Second Prize: 1 team - NT$800 + certificates of merit
Third Prize: 1 team - NT$600 + certificates of merit
Honorable Mentions: 4 teams - NT$400 each + certificates of merit

📝Registration and Submission Guidelines
Participating teams should submit all required documents by the registration deadline to complete the registration process.
Failure to comply with submission rules or eligibility requirements will result in disqualification.
Proposals should be submitted in PDF format, with a maximum file size of 35MB.
Participating teams are solely responsible for ensuring their files can be opened and viewed properly. The organizers are not liable for any issues caused by internet disruptions or other unforeseen circumstances.

A proposal, including a cover page and a table of contents, with the concept, background and objectives, creative ideas, implementation plan, required resources and feasibility, conclusion, and future outlook clearly outlined
