Planting Trees Together for Future Generations

I. Project Objectives
Tree planting not only helps increase carbon sink but also offers multiple benefits such as water conservation and biodiversity preservation. In alignment with ISU’s strategic development goals, this initiative aims to further integrate the SDGs into learning and daily life through concrete action. It also embodies ISU’s commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles. This tree planting and carbon offset initiative will actively engage faculty members, staff, and students in environmental action, fostering awareness of environmental protection and sustainability both on and off campus. This project contributes to the global pursuit of net-zero emissions by reducing carbon footprints through collective efforts. (Relevant SDGs: SDG 13, SDG 15, SDG 6, SDG 11) With Arbor Day on March 12 and the International Day of Forests on March 21, a series of tree-planting activities are planned for March. The campaign will also encourage alumni donations and volunteer participation, mobilizing their time, financial resources, and professional expertise to support this public initiative. By leveraging alumni networks, this Project aims to foster cross-sector partnerships that advance shared sustainability and public service goals.
