35th Anniversary Celebration and Cross-College Joint Achievements Exhibition
✍️College of Engineering:
Leading the Intelligent Wave · Co-Creating the Future
✍️Event Summary:
The 2024 Joint Project Achievement Exhibition of the College of Engineering was held from May 14 to May 17, 2025, at the atrium on 3F of the Science and Engineering Building. An online voting event for project submissions was conducted via the official webpage from April 29 to May 25, 2025, to enhance promotional effectiveness. Additionally, digital signage at the atrium on 3F of the Science and Engineering Building displayed a continuous loop of the submitted project highlights. This year, award-winning projects were selected in advance and showcased during ISU’s individual application admission interviews. Posters of award-winning works from current and previous years were exhibited, along with a display of featured projects from each department to celebrate ISU’s 35th anniversary. This event gave students a valuable opportunity to present their research and learning achievements through project-based work, serving as a career preparation for future employment in relevant industries. Furthermore, by holding the exhibition during the college admissions interview period, parents, prospective students, and industry representatives could gain deeper insights into the unique strengths and characteristics of each department within the College.
✍️Event Highlights:
A total of 43 teams participated in this year’s joint capstone exhibition. The featured projects were showcased on the College’s official website, and an online popularity voting was held during the event to boost student engagement and increase webpage traffic. Through the exhibition, students presented their research achievements, which not only helped them prepare for future careers but also allowed them to broaden their knowledge by learning from other projects, thereby fostering possibilities for future interdisciplinary collaboration.
Eight faculty members were invited to serve as judges, evaluating submissions from both undergraduate and graduate students. In total, 1 Excellence Award and 2 Honorable Mentions were granted under the graduate category, while 4 Excellence Awards and 8 Honorable Mentions were presented under the undergraduate category. Certificates of merit were awarded to all winners in recognition of their efforts. The five projects receiving the Excellence Award included: “A Study on the Characteristics of Ti65(AlCrNb)35 Medium-Entropy Alloy Welds after Laser and Post-Heat Treatment,” “Automated Waste Recognition and Collection Device for Drones,” “Electrochemical Glucose Sensors Based on Silver Nanoparticle-Reduced Graphene Oxide/Polypyrrole Hybrid Nanocomposite Films,” “Bearing Capacity and Structural Analysis of Soft Rock Piles,” and “Effects of Heat Treatment and GTAW Repair Parameters on the Microstructure and Properties of Cu-Ni-Si-Cr Castings.”
This exhibition was held concurrently with ISU’s individual application interviews, offering an opportunity for students to explain their projects in person and for the online showcase to draw attention from parents and prospective students. This strategy aimed to enhance outreach and increase enrollment through strengthened promotional efforts.
